An Iranian photojournalist, performing his duty at the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), was attacked by two anonymous men on Friday in Islamabad.
Zeeshan Ali was taking photographs, depicting the observance of Ramazan in Pakistan, in Islamabad’s G-8 area when armed men attacked at him and grasped his equipment on gunpoint.
When Zeeshan resisted him , the assailants thrusted him with a knife and ran away from the scene, leaving him injured.
Eye witnesses immediately informed the IRNA office about the incident and the bureau chief had Zeeshan shifted to a hospital. The incident was also reported to the police.
Zeeshan, who has been an active IRNA photojournalist for many years, also takes photos at cultural, social, political and sports-related events in Pakistan published daily on the Iranian website.
