LAHORE: Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said that the PPP never supported Nawaz Sharif or his government, but supported democracy in order to save it.
“We never supported Nawaz Sharif or his government, we saved democracy,” said Zardari.
The PPP co-chairman added that the PPP wants to see democracy evolve in the country as it is “a gradual process”.
Polish land forces commander calls on COAS
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday met with Commander Polish Land Forces Brigadier General Wojclech Granowshi and discussed matters of mutual interest including defence, training and bilateral security cooperation, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Views were also exchanged on regional security and the delegation was given a detailed briefing on operational and training activities of the Pakistan Army.
The visiting Polish commander acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism., added ISPR.
On arrival at the General Headquarters, the commander of Polish land forces laid a floral wreath at the Martyr’s Monument and was presented a guard of honour by an Army contingent.
