Cities to be ‘beautified’ through horticulture : Shehbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting to ponder over different proposals and initiatives taken for the promotion of horticulture in the province. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government is pursuing the policy of beautifying development projects through the dexterous use of horticulture.

The beautification as well as ensuring general cleanliness of different cities is our responsibility and for that purpose, work is to be done in an organized manner to deduce positive results. For that purpose, the line departments are needed to work in an organized manner. He said that horticulture and landscaping augment the beauty of the cities.

He directed that a comprehensive plan be presented in next few days for beautifying the provincial metropolis and other cities through horticulture. Along with it, recommendations be also finalized to titivate the commercial buildings through horticulture. Terming the outsourcing as a successful model, he said that we need to beautify the cities through horticulture by following this model. Secretary Forests, DG Lahore Walled City Authority, DG LDA, Commissioner and DC Lahore, DG PHA and concerned officials attended the meeting.

CM condemns unprovoked firing of Indian army LoC

LAHORE, October 04: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the unprovoked firing of Indian army at the Line of Control. He has expressed the deep sense of sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of children due to the firing of the Indian army. He has extended sympathies to the heirs of the martyred children. He said the more Indian army is condemned for targeting the civilian population, the less it would be. Firing on the civilian population by the Indian army is a highly cowardly act. He said that India’s military jingoism is a grave threat to the regional peace and added that India should not underestimate our capabilities. The brave armed forces of Pakistan have the fullest capability to deal with any aggression and the whole nation is also siding with our brave armed forces.

PML-N government has firm belief over the finality of Prophethood

LAHORE, October 04: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the Pakistan Muslim League-N government has unwavering belief over the finality of Prophethood (Khatm-e-Nabuwat) and change in the words already included in the oath in recent election reforms act approved by the parliament does not reflect the standpoint of the PML-N. He said the past of PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with that of the party leadership is witness to it that they have always expressed deep-rooted attachment with the belief in the finality of the Prophethood at every phase of their life. The Chief Minister said that the federal government should immediately restore the old words in the text of the oath relating to the belief in the finality of the Prophethood through a new amendment so that misunderstandings of the people resulting due to this anomaly could be corrected
