Managing Director, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Amjad Latif inaugurated the IT-Disaster Recovery Centre at Manga on Thursday.
According to the spokesman for the SNGPL, the state-of-the-art facility centre was equipped with redundant battery backed uninterrupted power supply systems, automatic fire detection and suppression systems, and diesel generator.
The Managing Director appreciated the GM (IT/MIS) and the core team involved in the project and thanked the rest of the departments such as Projects, Stores, Civil, Admin for the successful completion of the project.
On the occasion, GM IT/MIS Muhammad Riaz explained that Disaster Recovery Centre would ensure that all business critical IT services and data stay available in case of any unforeseen event at the Primary Data Centre. There are redundant links for the data transfer between the systems from Head Office to the newly establish Disaster Recovery Centre. IT/MIS also performed the first test in the presence of users from all the business departments.
Deputy Managing Director (Services) Amir Tufail, along with SGM (Projects) Sibghatullah Suri, SGM (Audit) Faisal Iqbal, SGM (CSS) Waseem Ahmad, GM(Admin) Ashraf Nadeem, GM (Stores) Rauf Awan, GM (Projects) Ali Ahmad, Incharge (Telecom) Ikhlaq Sheikh accompanied the Managing Director during the inaugural ceremony.
