At least 5 killed as speedy passenger van crashes into tree in Kamra

RAWALPINDI: At least five people were killed and several injured as a speedy van crashed into a tree near Kamra, Attock.

Officials of the National Highways and Motorway Police said the van driver lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the tree.

Authorities are on site attempting to rescue the injured.

At least one policeman martyred, three injured in Quetta firing incident

QUETTA: At least one policeman was martyred and three were injured in a firing incident on Faqir Mohammad Road.

According to the SSP Operations, the deceased policeman was in critical condition when he was brought to the hospital while the boy injured in the incident was a bystander.

The injured are being treated at Civil Hospital, Quetta, according to rescue officials.

Police are often targetted in gun and bomb attacks in the provincial capital.

Earlier today, the suspected facilitator of the 2016 Civil Hospital bombing was killed in a shootout by the Counter Terrorism Department in Quetta.

Police officials said the encounter took place on Qambrani Road, and led to the death of Asfandyar and the arrest of another accomplice.

Officials said explosives and arms were recovered from the two.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawaz Sanaullah Zehri appreciated the police operation.
