PIA flight schedule affected by fog, smog

KARACHI: Due to the weather conditions (dense fog and smog) prevailing in the country, and as advised by Meteorology Department, some of PIA flights operating on Tuesday have been revised or re-routed, a spokesman of the national flag carrier said here on Monday.

He stated that keeping in view the weather forecast, the following flights have been revised:

PK 340 Karachi-Faisalabad is re-routed to operate as Karachi-Lahore.

PK717 Faisalabad-Medinah is re-routed to operate as Lahore-Medinah.

PK 650 Lahore-Islamabad will operate with a delay of 4 hours and PK 651-Islamabad- Lahore will operate with a delay of 3 hours and 30 minutes.

In addition, PK 295 Lahore-Abu Dhabi will now operate as Lahore-Rahim Yar Khan-Abu Dhabi with a delay of 30 minutes, the PIA spokesman concluded.

Captain Junaid Hafeez embraces martyrdom in terrorists attack from Afghanistan

Rawalpindi (Monitoring Desk): According to Director General Inter Services Public Relations General Asif Ghafoor that Captain Junaid Hafeez and sepoy Raham has embraced martyrdom in terrorists attack from Afghanistan.

Around eight to 10 suspected terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire by the armed forces, ISPR said.

“Terrorists from  Afghanistan side attempted [an] attack on Pakistani posts along Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur Agency. The attempt was effectively responded killing 8-10 fleeing terrorists while many seen running back injured,” ISPR said.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Capt Junaid Hafeez and Sepoy Raham.

“The absence of Afghan [state] writ on [the] Afghan side of the border, like many other areas, facilitate terrorists to undertake such attempts,” ISPR said.
