‘Punjab govt providing assistance to foreign investors’

LAHORE: The Punjab government is providing complete technical assistance to investors to set up new projects in the province.

This was said by Overseas Pakistanis (OPC) Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti while talking to a delegation of UK-Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry during its visit to the OPC head office here on Wednesday.

Afzaal Bhatti while apprising members of delegation about various sectors of investment in Punjab said all possible facilities were being provided to investors while the OPC was an integral part of efforts to generate foreign investment in the province.

He said that the province had plenty of resources and opportunities and overseas Pakistanis should invest in different fields of interest.

The Punjab government had introduced pro-business policies and offered lucrative opportunities to investors, especially in the fields of energy, agriculture, livestock and dairy development, mines and minerals, tourism and infrastructure, he added.

The members of the delegation showed keen interest in different sectors for investment and thanked the OPC team for arranging fruitful meetings with high-ups of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and other stake-holders.  A documentary about the OPC was shown on this occasion while question answer session was also held.  Siddik, the President UK-PK CCI, Kamran Khan, General Secretary and other members, including Amjad Khan, Jahanzaib Anees, Tahira Butt, Shafkat Khan, Zahra Pervaiz, Faisal Khawaja, Sajid Kashif,  Afzal Malik and Ihsan Khan were part of the delegation.

Director General OPC Syed Javed Iqbal Bokhari, Additional DG Agha Yousaf, Directors Asad Naeem and Raja Zubair were also present.
