LAHORE: The Center for Educational Policy and Administration (CEPA) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad organized concluding ceremony of a three-day “Faculty Training Workshop on Research Methodology” here on Wednesday.
UVAS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the concluding session of the workshop and distributed certificates among the participants while Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman and Chairperson Department of Anatomy & Histology Dr Hafsa Zaneb and twenty-five participants of the workshop attended.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani said that it was direly needed to learn research methods and techniques and find out the priority areas for winning of research projects/grants from international agencies.
He said:” We need to get benefit from the experiences of principle investigators who are working successfully on their research projects”. Dr Rabbani lauded the organisers for conducting such an informative workshop for the betterment of students and sector as well.
Earlier, Prof. Dr Habib-ur-Rehman spoke about the objectives of CEPA. At the end of the ceremony, Dr Hafsa Zenab presented the vote of thanks.
In the workshop various aspects have been discussed related to research methodology, including critical thinking in research, research process, how to write a research paper, and research ethics, etc.
Meanwhile, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) participated in the signing ceremony for the establishment of Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) Network in Pakistan.
The ceremony was jointly organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), Pakistan. More than 20 universities from all over Pakistan attended the ceremony and signed the agreement.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Muhammad Baleeghur Rehman presided over the signing ceremony as a chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Baleeghur Rehman emphasized the importance of quality education and protection of the innovative ideas and product development. He said that the TISC would provide the innovators in developing countries with access to locally based, high quality technology information and related services, helping them to exploit their innovation potential and to create, protect and manage their intellectual property (IP) rights.
UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha signed the agreement while Director ORIC Dr Hafsa Zenab and Focal Person (TISC) Dr Muhammad Adnan Aslam were also present.
