Awareness campaign to promote book reading culture launched

LAHORE: Students of Institute of Communication Studies of Punjab University have launched an awareness campaign to highlight the negative impacts that the decline in book reading among the youth is causing and to promote book reading culture.
The awareness campaign was a student led initiate who organized various activities in the regard including pamphlets and handouts to the students and faculty of Punjab University. The students had also arranged a mobile book shop where various types of books were available on discounted prices.
In charge director of Institute of Communication Studies, Dr. Noshina Saleem appreciated the students for organizing this awareness campaign and stressed the need to instill the habit of book reading into the youth, regretting that it had been fading. She also underlined the need for the capacity-building of the schoolchildren along with the capacity-building of their teachers in this regard.
