Islamabad (Monitoring Desk): Capital Development Authority is going to allot allot over 1,000 acres to Pakistan Army for the construction of new GHQ.
Plan to shift General Headquarter from Rawalpindi to Islamabad was under consideration since 2009 but due to financial constraints it was not implemented.
Pakistan army has now requested the federal government for the possession of land at earliest to build army headquarter in Islamabad.
The decision to handover 1,000 acres to Pakistan Army was taken during the high level meeting of CDA officials on December 19.
Formal letter of possession of land is not issued ye by the Capital Development authorities to Pakistan Army.
