IGP for using modern methods of investigation in Zainab murder case

LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab Capt (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan Saturday said modern methods of investigation should be used for resolving Zainab murder case at the earliest.

He added that DNA tests of all the suspect persons should be taken besides ensuring cooperation of the Nadra related information so that the ruthless culprit could be punished.

He expressed these views while addressing the police officers in a session of Zainab murder case at the IG House.

JIT head RPO Multan Muhammad Idrees, RPO Sheikhupura Zulfqar Hameed, DPO Kasur Zahid Nawaz Murawwat and other officers of JIT were also present.

Some officers also attended the session via video link, while Addl IG Operations Amir Zulfqar Khan, Addl IG Investigation Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh, AIG Legal Abdul Rab and AIG Monitoring Ahsan Yunis were also present in this session.

JIT Head M Idrees and other members briefed the IG about the current situation and details of Zainab murder case and all aspects of the murder were discussed in details.

The IGP said by making the proceedings of investigation more speedy the case should be resolved soon.

He said the investigation compass should be extended to other departments for cooperation so that no stones were left unturned for provision of justice to heirs of deceased Zainab.
