Accountability court resumes hearing corruption references against Sharif family

Islamabad (Monitoring Desk): The accountability court hearing corruption references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family has resumed its proceedings.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed three references  Al-Azizia, Flagship and Avenfield  against Nawaz, daughter Maryam and son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar.

Whereas Nawaz is accused in all three cases, Maryam and Safdar are named in the Avenfield reference only. Moreover, Nawaz’s sons, Hussain and Hasan, are accused in all three references but have been declared proclaimed offenders due to their continuous no-show.

Four witnesses are expected to record their statements in the Avenfield reference today.

Moreover, the court is expected to rule on the three suspects’ request to be exempted from appearance from February 19 to March 5 as the family has to travel to London to visit Nawaz’s ailing wife, Kulsoom.

NAB recommends Interior Minister to put Nawaz, Maryam, Safdar names on ECL

Islamabad (Monitoring Desk): National Accountability Bureau has recommended the Interior Minister to put former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law MNA Captain retired Safdar names on Exit control list.

Sharif family is facing multiple corruption references in Accountability Court filed by National Accountability Bureau on the directions of Supreme Court of Pakistan verdict in Panama case.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz has termed the cases political victimization and dual standards of justice.

Earlier Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that our narrative has made a place in the hearts of people of Pakistan and there is dire need to respect the sanctity of the vote.

He also thanked the Allah Almighty and his support over the remarkable victory of Lodhran election by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz candidate Pir Iqbal Shah.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was addressing the media after condolence with Mufti Raghib Naeemi over his grandmother demise. PMLN President vowed to ensure the sanctity of vote and said that he will take the issue to the every corner of the country to establish the sanctity of peoples mandate.
